Honestly when firefox implemented that new download manager i was disapointed. I was much happier with the way Firebird 0.6 downloaded apps in a little download applet that showed the progress. Not some download window that gets cluttered with apps that I hate clearing every so often. As with everything else, this can be disabled. I don't think it should be a plugin because I believe this is functionality the majority of users will want. This kinda of things should be extensions. i just hope that i can at least drag the buttons from that toolbar that i find useful into another toolbar.
